I was a chicken show yesterday and I bought a lemon blue sport old english game bantam. He was so small and so pretty! Got him home and put him in the pen and today he was dead!

It's the only lemon blue sport I've ever seen.

I do hope that you didn't put him in with your other chickens though. Birds need to be quarantined for 3-4 weeks before you put them in with your flock.

Hope you feel better soon. Although it's not as bad as when a friend of mine bought a $500 rare tropical saltwater fish, put it in it's new tank, and watched as it swam at full speed right into the glass aquarium wall and die

When I get a new chicken I usually quarantine it for a few weeks. I sure hope that it didn't have a contagious disease.
I am really sorry for your loss.
