Very Serious Cat Problem.......Could Use Advice ASAP UPDATE

Mine was vomiting every day until I switched to the iamms not sure if I spelled that right. I buy the sensitive stomach blend. I also use a hairball jell that I put on her paw so she will lick it off. It's some sort of kitty grease. She only vomits once or twice a week. Heck it's a lot better than daily. She had nothing else wrong with her. I had her completely gone over from head to toe. Even xrays to make sure there was no obstruction somewhere. Nothing. Hope things work out for you .

Her last checkup was less than a year ago for this reason. The vet said she had fleas and prescribed Frontline which I have used ever since. I don't know if that's really what the problem was though as I never saw a flea. Maybe he was just putting me off. He never found a flea on her that day but said she had flea droppings in her fur. To me it seemed questionable but just in case I started her on the Frontline regime.

I am thinking ocd. Last night in the middle of the night she woke me up with her licking sounds. She was on the carpet next to the bed. Then at exactly 3:30 we heard her throwing up under our bed.

DH said.......ok.....that's ridiculous.........tommorow she goes. Get's up this am and tells me all that he has to do including having Julie put down.

Well, it IS ridiculous that we can't even get a decent nights sleep anymore.......but......I said give it another day......I can't do this yet. She's always been such a nice little girl.......I hate to think about it during the day, but in the night I had to agree with dh.

I think she's not right in the head anymore.

I would get a second vet opinion first. Give her a chance and try something else before you go to the extreme of putting her down. Please, try something else before doing that.

I am a groomer, this is nothing new to me, and my suggestion is to have her shaved and bathe her in an oatmeal shampoo. There are many reasons for excessive licking and also many remedies, try grooming first.

Get her to a vet, not the one you used previously

No one here can accurately diagnose your cat. Not even a vet could without seeing the cat.

It "could be" OCD. It "could be" allergies.
Only a trained vet will be able to tell you and the only way they can do that is to see the cat physically and speak with you.

If you cant do that, then yes it would probably be in the cats best interest to be put to sleep

Animals can develop allergies at any time during their lives, and many times the allergic reaction manifests itself with licking due to itchy skin, and vomiting. If you don't want to take her to the vet for allergy testing, then at least PLEASE change her food and get her off of any product that has corn and wheat in it. If her food is a chicken protein based food, see if you can find one that has a meat protein that she has never been exposed to, such as duck or venison, etc. Start there (she will eat it if when she gets hungry enough) and see if makes a difference. It may not be food allergies, but it sure won't hurt to try that first. Best wishes!
