Very sick chicken!

I'm sorry.  They can sometimes do that, go up and down.

I forgot to ask,  I'm sure you are providing oyster shell free choice, but just in case, make that available as well.

I know it can be discouraging, but do the best you can.

Is she staying with her head tucked under her wing?

Most likely an indication that she doesn't feel well. Some chickens sleep this way too.

Can you take a fecal sample to the vet to have tested? They can check for cocci, worms and possibly bacterial infection.

She was probably sleeping! She is doing well now! But she stopped laying egg for now! Which is ok with me, I just want her to stay healthy!

A girl's gotta have her beauty rest.

Glad to hear she is doing better!

Keep an eye on her and give her a little extra TLC, hopefully she will continue to do well.

Posted a video of my chicken. She is almost gasping for air. Her breathing is very heavy and wheezing. She's not eating or drinking much. Any advice??

Hi @vydrew

I'm sorry, but your video link does not work. You can make one for youtube, that usually does the trick.

Can you give us some more information:
How old is your chicken?
Is the gasping, heavy breathing and wheezing accompanied by facial swelling, eye/nose discharge (respiratory illness) or does she seem to have something stuck in her throat?
If she is of laying age, when was the last time she laid an egg - has she had any trouble laying her eggs?

Separate her so you can monitor her more closely. Try to make her comfortable, place water and feed with her, but if she is having a lot of trouble breathing, don't force it on her too much. If you have a vet that can see her, that is always best.
