@BugStalker has been a huge help on the other thread I've posted. I've got a rescued Black Australorp hen - unknown age - who has sour crop I've been treating with Medistatin for two days after withholding food to make sure what I'm up against. She is emaciated and has passed two small lash-type masses (like the size of kidney beans). I have Baytril on order, but it won't get here until Monday. Her wattles are cold. She has mucousy diarrhea. She wants to eat, but her crop is in no shape for it. I've given her NutriDrench and a little coconut oil to see if I can get things moving.
Now she is weakening and has labored breathing. She has periods of alertness, but sleeps most of the time. I suspect, as does @BugStalker , that the underlying infection and inflammation is stopping her up.
Is there anything else I can do for her until those meds get here? She is literally starving to death, I think. HUGE thanks to BugStalker. I'm just looking for any ideas. Getting desperate here.
