Very Simple Brooderw/ EcoGlow - 1st Hatch Newbie (Pics)

I may look into having an Ecoglow too! I hate the thought of red lights and broken lights in case the chicks get too lively!

I looked directly at Brisea's website, they offer for the SAME price. The only thing is the shipping costs that would make a world of difference!

How much is the shipping?

Robin - you would love it!!!! Mine was given to me as a gift from a friend (I gave her my dogloo for her goat) and it is just like brooding under a broody. The chicks are happy, it didn't change my electric bill at all. Add to that NO fire hazard and it's hard to beat.

Interesting. I may have to look into getting one of these for next year. I have seen some people mention them but I had no idea what it was. Thanks for posting the photos.

Thank you LilMisChz for the heads up on the Ecoglow Product. I Found it and ordered it.

I am new to chickens and will be receiving my first chicks around April 25. I have been concerned about keeping them warm with a heat lamp/light bulb. I have this fear of fire, as
I think most people are. I feel so much better known I have something safer.

Thank you for lifting the weight of fire fear off my shoulder.

I too have the same fear as I had a friend who lost everything to a fire, including pets. I am also concerned about giving living things (in this case, chicks) the most natural environment possible. And since I knew this wouldn't be my one and only batch of chicks... I went with it without hesitation.

You're welcome. I found out about it right here on this site through others who were discussing it and ordered it promptly.

This is great! We're using a heat lamp now, but we'll probably switch to an ecoglow. If not this year, next year for sure.

my babies love this they lay on top and underneath it.i beleve they think its mom.when i change their water and food thats where they run and hide.at first i was not happy with it.i had this out in a out building in side of a brooder box the temperture underneath was only 50 degress.but it was 29 degress that morning.so i was concern that this would not keep the babies warm enough so i set up a brooder light on top.it was well worth what i payed for it after watching the babies .

How high in inches would you set the Ecoglow 50 for new chicks? Are their backs supposed to touch the bottom of the radiating plate??

I am loving the Ecoglow! Of 47 chicks about 3/4 prefer it. The rest seem to hang out near the heat lamp on the other end of the brooder.
