a porcelain is the millie fleur (it is a pattern) diluted by the lavender gene. they lay a white to very slightly tinted eggs. my pullet there is very sweet. they should have feathers down their legs and on their middle toe. i will give the links to 2-3 sites that i use for d'uccle.

Hello again! I have the rooster who is either a Phoenix or a Totenko (leaning towards the former now as he doesn't crow the way the other does - at least according to youtube). Good links are much appreciated as there are tons of sites that just give very little, duplicate information. I'm trying to learn what all my new poultry flock members are - it's fun

I looked at two, a hen and a cockerel. Both have the cheek puffs, a puff starting under their beak (chin?), and they both had feathery feet and toes. The boy has a little wattle starting, very tiny so far, but I read that they should be almost non-existent, so we shall see! I have manage to displace my camera (sigh) but will ask him to pose for me if/when I find it.

I've read they are very friendly, so been trying to let them know I'm safe...they are quite curious, and seem open to the idea

my porcelain that you can see in my d'uccle album is from a breeder and looks very very nice while the rest of my d'uccle came from ideal. my lavender has some very nice foot feathering but he lacks on the beard and his wattles are way to big.

yes the wattles are either rudimentary or not there and that's for both sexes although they (SOP people) would prefer them to have no wattle at all.

hdowden, you were asking about the muffs, beards and toes? I have the world's oldest digital camera and I have no "eye", but I think I got some better pictures.













They all have a lovely dapple but it just isn't coming through.

Are they looking egg-worthy for someone? Maybe too young to know yet.

is that the middle toe or is that the outter toe with feathering (3rd toe)? other than this question they are all looking good so far

Let's see. I'm looking at them all right now, and the toes with a few tiny feathers are the ones under their body - on people they would be the thumbs.
