Is she able to poop? Egg bound hens may not be able to poop. You can repeat the calcium in 24 hours if she is still the same and not able to pass an egg.

Yes she is! She has been pooping a very normal amount (at least 10 times since last night)! She is more active today and she got some crushed calcium tablets. She is acting more energetic (I may be delusional) but has been eating little. I hand fed her some meal worms and some normal food. She is getting eggs when the finish cooking. She got some antibiotics in her water as well.

Then she doesn’t sound like she is egg bound, but maybe suffering from salpingitis or egg yolk peritonitis.

How can I find out if it is that and how do I treat?

If she has that it won’t matter much because there is no treatment. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs such as meloxicam might help early on, but most of the time when symptoms occur, it may be too late. Most of the time, the first we usually know is after death when we do a home necropsy to look at the abdominal organs and contents. But it is hard to pinpoint her problem at this time.

What antibiotic? I’m not a vet, but her position definitely looks either like reproductive disorder or egg bound. So I would continue the antibiotics and give calcium again tomorrow. Let us know how she gets along.

There have been a few threads about roosters who also did this. Some of them seemed have a possible abdominal tumor, or a paralyzed leg, but one also seemed to have a skeletal deformity. Oddly, some of these chickens improved in posture to almost normal, and later died.
