I believe my chickens have a bacterial infection...but I can't find a vet in my area that sees "exotic" animals...funny, I didn't know a chicken was exotic! I found one, but just the exam is over $100. I am pretty sure what it is, and all I need is a perscription for baytril. Anyone in the area know of a vet that is a bit easier on the purse, but is willing to look at my exotic birds?

Look outside town for a farm vet. They are a bit more understanding. Tell them you suspect you know the problem and just need a simple exam and a prescription.

We are compliling a list of vets that will see chickens.

If you find one, post on that thread so we can add them to the list.

Also, we currently have these vets listed for Virginia. I have no idea how far away these vets are from you. If they are too far away, you may consider calling one and asking if they can refer you to anyone in your area.
