I was in tears with how uncomfortable she looked & the way she was pushing, thinking the worst was happening, then this was laying on the floor! It’s a normal size, looks normal inside when I hold I up to the light. She’s closing her eyes now, but I imagine she’s been working on it for a while & it’s exhausting!!
Maybe she isn’t used to laying a normal hard shelled egg and that’s why she looked uncomfortable.

Sorry I didn’t see this since it was on a new page. :)
That could be. She used to be a super reliable layer, but hasn’t been for months. I’m so so happy to know she isn’t backed up!! I mean I was so upset at the look of her. And then instant relief (& surprise) when I saw that egg! :wee:woot

I was in tears with how uncomfortable she looked & the way she was pushing, thinking the worst was happening, then this was laying on the floor! It’s a normal size, looks normal inside when I hold I up to the light. It’s soft, but has some grit to it, like she’s was trying to calcify it. But it feels like that would add some resistance to its movement also. She was closing her eyes off & on afterward, but I imagine she’s been working on it for a while & it’s exhausting!!
That is a great sign! Keep doing what you're doing!

Laying softies really takes a lot out of them.
