Veterinarian with no chicken experience wanting to Nebulize water soluble Tylan

I don't understand how a nebulizer works but from what I do understand Thailand works best if given every 8 hours.

Which Tylan do you have and exactly how much are you giving?
I used Tylan 50 soluble powder in water. 1/2 tsp per Gallon for 5 days. It is off label for Layers and FDA approved for broilers. I did tube feed some of the medicated water to start with as well I gave 1/4 cc of Vit B 12 and Vit B Complex subcutaneously. She turned around is now pecking and scratching with the flock.

Thank you in advance for reading this. I am a retired veterinarian with a mixed age "3 weeks to 10 months old flock" of 40. I have only been keeping chickens for 10 months and just started treating neighbors and friends chickens. I will not cover up the fact that I am a complete rookie when it comes to chickens. I had a coyote attack coupled with introduction of a new flock member that I had quarantined for 30 days prior to side by side introduction. The quarantined chicken had a nasal discharge only after introduction (not while in quarantine) but was active and alert and eating/drinking. I quarantined her again and after 3 days on Tylan in water her symptoms resolved, she is doing well. 5 days later my prized family member Black Copper Marans "Noodle" showed signs of lethargy by not coming into the coop to the dinner bell. I noticed clear discharge from nose and brought her to quarantine inside my shower different location than the first quarantined chicken that resolved. "Noodle" is sneezing, clear discharge from nose and a day later, one foaming eye. She's not drinking her Tylan water so I tube fed her Tylan with electrolyte Vit supplement. Not sure If that will affect antibiotic. Also gave Vit B12 and Vit B complex SQ 1/4 cc each with some SQ fluids. She started preening an hour later and I was hopeful but still has snot visibly dripping. I am wanting to nebulize her and wondering if anyone has done this with water soluble Tylan? And the nebulizing dose probably pretty hard to know how much powder to add. I called Ellanco "manufacturer of Tylan" and they don't know. 1/2 tsp per gallon. Great but I don't have a gallon of sterile water or Sodium Chloride. So do I just sprinkle????? Any experiences with doses of meds in nebulization would be graciously accepted of any meds.
Has any one used albuterol sulfate in nebulization? Any heart rate problems with using albuterol in chickens like with small animals?

Hello, so I was fortunate to live near an avian vet when a three year old brahma hen got sick with a respiratory infection. It was incredible getting to watch him inspect my hen. Anyways, what he perscribed at the time was Trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole (SMZ/TMP suspension). I used a liquid dropper to give her 1.5ML every 24 hours for 10 days with a 20 day egg withdrawal period, including the period she's receiving the meds, and now she's a happy four year old chicken! I'm not sure if that will be any help to you, but I thought I'd share my experience.

At the time of receiving the medication I read more about its use and dosage recommendations here: http://www.poultrydvm.com/drugs/trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole

In case you wanted to reach out to him, his name is Dr. Fallen at the Cheat Lake Animal Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Good luck to you and your hens!
