I am new to using VETRx. I followed the directions to make the solution with the VETRx & water. I kept the solution in a closed container because I didn’t want to dump it. I was wondering if it can be reused, it seemed like such a waste to dump a whole cup of it out. I brought a spray bottle home, so I was going to pour it in there to spray around their brooder. Just wanted to ask people who have more knowledge of it if reusing it can be done if it should be dumped after the solution was used for what it was made for. Let me know your thoughts! Thank you!

Is there a reason why you are needing to use VetRx? Are your chicks sick? Any symptoms?
Photos of chicks, poop, brooder, etc.
What are your concerns as to the health of your chicks?

VetRx is a "remedy" and won't cure any illnesses. It may help give some relief to respiratory symptoms similar to humans using Vicks Vapor Rub.

Mixed solutions can become rancid or even mold at times, it would be better to make a "fresh" solution every day, but you may be able to get by with every other day if you store it in a cool place, just warm it up when you use it as suggested in the instructions.

Good to know that it will go bad. That definitely answers my question. It’s just a shame to make so much and only use a little bit.

Both of my ducklings are sneezing. Have been for about a week. They had warm baths to clean their nostrils & I even made a container for them to be able to do it in their brooder. My one duckling had clear snot like liquid coming out of her nose this weekend especially when she sneezed.

So I don’t know if they’re sick. I don’t know if their bedding is making them sneeze or their food. But just to be safe I wanted to treat them Incase it was a respiratory issue.

Well, you can always cut that in half, use 1/2tsp to 1/2 cup of water.

Oh, I didn't know these were ducklings LOL I don't know much about Ducks, but they do get respiratory disease like Mycoplasma. If they are snotty, then that may be what you are dealing with. Hard to know.
If you can post some photos of them and their brooder, that may be helpful.

I'll tag in a few people that know more about Ducks. @Pyxis @casportpony @Miss Lydia @WVduckchick

I always heard it was similar to Vick’s vapo rub but in liquid.i have it in my med kit but haven’t had to use it. I would put a dry swap over their nares to help them breathe. What I mean is put some on your finger and wipe it over their nares but not wet enough it drips into their nares.

I’ll try an take some pictures of them and their brooder set up tonight. Other than the sneezing they are eating, drinking, & pooping! I really hope it’s nothing serious, we just lost one of our 9 week old ducklings and I’m heartbroken. I’ll be devastated if we lose more baby ducks! :(

Here is brooder pictures. It’s a very ghetto set up but it works great. They were eating so they’re blurry in the pictures.

I never get tired of duckling pics! :love

They are young, so the sneezing could just be the shavings. They will get used to it.

If you don't want to test fully removing the shavings, you could cover them with a towel/cloth/old t-shirts (no strings or frayed edges) for a couple days and see if it helps. I usually keep mine on puppy pee pads for the first week or two, before adding the shavings. And I try to keep the shavings in the "bedroom" half of the brooder, and out of the "kitchen". :p Soggy shavings are such a pain. Your ghetto set up is fine! Anything to lessen the mess wins my vote. :D

So here’s a poop picture that concerns me. It’s been a very busy week so I haven’t really gotten to spend any time with my babies besides cleaning their brooder out and feedings. I didn’t see any other poops like this in the shavings besides this one under their food catch dish. It looks like some very loose poop. I don’t know who’s it is, and you can see a normal poop near it. I’m pretty positive it’s not mixed with water because it was their food side not the water side. But yeah, I don’t know. I just don’t want to loose any ducklings, we just lost our 9 week old to a predator and I can’t handle loosing a duckling to sickness. They are acting totally fine in all aspects besides the sneezing and now this loose poop.
