Hi all

I may have overlooked this question and apologize if I have. We have 3 ducklings and 1 has an issue with his neck. As far as I can tell its wry neck. After searching I have read that most people have great luck with Poly Vi Sol supplements (Without Iron). My question is Can I use Tri Vi Sol or do I need to stick with Poly?

Thanks in advance!!

No, Tri-Voi-Sol only contains vitamins A, D, and C, your ducklings need Thiamine and Vitamin E. I suggest you pick up some Vitamin E soft gels capsules for humans 400iu per capsule, and Cattle B injectable Complex. 400iu a day for the duckling, cut the tip of the capsule and squirt the fluids into the mouth, or poke the capsule with a needle and SLOWLY squeeze the fluid into her mouth, you don't want to aspirate her. For the vitamin B complex, I would go one/two drops into her mouth with a syringe/eyedropper or over treats once a day. This is what you want-

Since ducklings with Wry Neck have a hard time getting around, you need to offer her food very often, also dip her bill in water for a half of a second often too.

So stick with Poly Vi Sol and add Vit E and Vit B correct? Also give Inject-able Vit B orally?

She doesn't let the neck bother her too much and she can straighten it out like normal it just appears to be a position of comfort as we would call it in the human medical field. She eats and drinks just like her siblings and we have not noticed any issues other than the "lazy neck" so far.

If you buy the E and B complex there would be no need to administer the Poly-Vi-Sol in conjunction with the two, as what she needs is already in the E and B. Yes, while you can give the B by injection, we recommend giving it orally, or if she is eating often put it over her favorite treats.

Many Thanks!!!!

How is the duckling doing?
Sorry all for the late update but life happens lol. The duckling is doing well despite me not being able to find Vi-Sol local and waiting for it to be shipped. I started them on Sav-A-Chick Electrolyte & Vitamin Supplement from Tractor supply and without a dose of the Poly he has almost corrected his neck issues 100%. Thanks to everyone for the help!!
