Hey guys, I noticed recently that my littlest chick of the bunch seems to vibrate when I pick her up (mostly her feet) I'm wondering if this is normal? She's a Rhode Island Red I got her almost 3 weeks ago and like I said she's smaller compared to the others (she might just be younger though) any help/advise is appreciated (:

I had a chick that did that last summer. I posted on here and got a few responses that other chicks also were doing this. But no one could explain to us why they were vibrating. All of our chicks were normal and healthy except for the vibrating.

My chick that was vibrating is ten months old now, completely normal and laying regularly. And the vibration stopped after about a month and never returned.

I still have no clue as to why some chicks vibrate. Perhaps someone will see your thread and be able to solve the Mystery of The Vibrating Chicks for us.

Well that's good to hear (: maybe we get the special chickens

Do a search for "epidemic tremors" and see if you think it applies. Apparently mild cases can show up as tremoring when picked up, especially when inverted.

It doesn't appear to be that it's mostly just her feet vibrating if she's not standing against some type of ground
