It would be great if someone could give me som helpful advise I know its hard because you arent here and cant see whats going on but maybe you have seen this before ??

poor thing. try giving her some scrambled eggs or yogurt. check her over for mites and lice. is it hot where you are?

no its been mild and no lice or mites I had a friend check her for me today he raised chickens but he didnt know alot ..I gave her a bit of olive oil and warm water she hasnt eaten or drank all day ..I ended up going on youtube trying to figure out what was going on and came accross a video that I wish i hadnt watched where some womans chicken was sick with sour crop and it died while she was doing the video .. I have been in tears ever since .. I honestly shouldnt own animals I become way too emotionally attatched.. I have my little girl in a plastic bin I will keep her in the house tonight or until she gets better ? I just hate this to be honest..... this feeling of helplessness ... Im not a vet and this is my first time with chickens .. I gave them all yogurt the other day it was banana strawberry for a treat Im not sure if she ate any ?? and today she wont even look at food nothing at all ... she is pale and weighs so much less then the others .. my friend said try orange juice ??? and he said I may have to force feed her ..Im just not sure if thats gonna make matters worse if she has a sour crop I even thought maybe I sould add a little of my antibiotic to the olive oil and warm water I have pennacilin and doxacycline here in the house its in capcules and powdery i could take a tiny bit and add it ??? IDK i feel like im just waiting for her to die =(

I think for sour crop you need to give her molasses and try to massage it around a little to soften it up, I don't think I would give orange juice. I think citrus is on the no,no list for chickens..I have not dealt with this hopefully some one with more knowledge will chime in

Soak her in a tub of warm water. It will relieve her and provide a relaxation. Then, lube up a digit and see if there is anything you can fish, in an obvious way, in her vent. You are looking for a piece of broken shell, perhaps. Tomorrow, watch her. She's hiding from the flock which is a sign she is afraid of appearing weak and vulnerable to them. Chicken's hide their difficulties as they fear being brutalized by their flock mates, who can be tough on the weak and sick.

Yes, I've seen this before.

Hi freds hens ..I will give that a try tomorrow,,,,,, as for now I have her indoors for the night in a box with just water no food because if it is sour crop she shouldnt eat anything to bind her more ..??? or so I read... anyway I gave her a dropper full of sugar water just to give her a little energy then when i placed her in the box she actually drank by her self .. I had tears of joy when I saw her do it but I know not to get my hopes up .. One question I have is if I do find a broken egg then what ????

Feel her abdomen. See if it feels squishy. I know that isn't very precise or technical, but you'll know it when or if you feel it.

If you do happen to find a piece of shell in her vent area, do try to get it out. Just be careful and gentle. You may not find anything.

Sorry she, and you, are going through this.

If she does have a bloated, squishy crop, open her beak and take a whiff. If it smells bad she has sour crop. DO NOT give her anything with sugar, that will just feed the yeast. I couldn't tell from the video if the crop was enlarged. Sour crop and impacted crop are treated differently. Do a search for more info.

Offer her some scrambled egg. Has she had this before? Most hens love scrambled egg and it will be easy for her to digest and give her protein and energy. Continue offering pure water. If you do offer yogurt only give chickens plain yogurt, nothing flavored or with sugar or artificial sweetener.

Have you inspected her vent? That poop she had was a little out of focus, but it looked pretty runny. That could be from the olive oil you gave her earlier. Did it look yellow, like a broken egg? You could try an epsom salt soak in warm water like fred said, then see if she might have an eggshell or ropey material stuck in her vent.

How long has this been going on?

Can you possibly get her to a vet. With her so sick (she is in big trouble here and needs the right help fast) and you new to chickens (as we all were at some point), there may not be time for trial and error here....and as we all know from being sick at some point, 5 minutes sick can feel like an eternity :(
