Vinegar in water

I'm going to try this. I've never done it before, so we'll see how the girls like it

How do you do this? I though t you had to make it from apples??

There is another thread with more details if you're interested. That's when I researched it a bit more.

I use it in the chicken waterers at 1tablespoon per gal or 1 teaspoon per quart. It eliminated the slime completely. I use cider vinegar and the cheap kind from BJ's. I'm sure the probiotics in the non-filtered type are beneficial, too. Just haven't found unfiltered yet. Also, cider vinegar seems to increase the % of female chicks when fed to mother hen. Am planning to try an experiment on this. So not sure if this is a myth or fact.

I got a jug of apple cider, unfiltered, put it in a half gallon mason jar, then added a bottle of the Braggs raw ACV. In about a week, the white pancake-looking mother had formed at the top and the liquid started clearing. The mother will eventually drop to the bottom and a new one will start to form, like a film, at the top. I save the daughter in a cup, strain off about 1/2 of the vinegar, and top off with more cider, add the daughter back. I've also taken a cider vinegar daughter and put it into some wine with water and a dab of honey & culture wine vinegar that way (for me, not the hens)

You can look this process up on line; the websites have lots of pictures.

If that is the case. I'm gonna make sure I use it everytime I change their water.

I leave the bottle by the hose & add everytime as well. Plus I sometimes take a shot if I remember.
