vines for shading your chicken run

Quote:
I appreciate your opinion on the list. Ive only had my chickens for 2 weeks and only gave them part of a sweet potato vine on Sunday and another chunk on Monday as I was out of their favorite treat spinach..... So no none of my chickens are dead, but I would like to keep them that way.

It is good to hear a grounded approach to some of these "toxic" plants as well.

I let mine figure out what they can and cannot eat as well. So far they've done fine..except the shamo that thought he wanted to eat a toxic toad...by the time he figured out he didn't want to eat it he had already gotten quite a bit in his mouth! Benadryl does not kill chickens either btw!

Hi! x2 on the hops. Grows fast and comes back even better. We also have muscadines inside the run. I loved the squash in the tires and trellised up. Maybe will try that this summer! On the "they'll eat what is good for them" line. I tend to agree...but draw the line at Styrofoam, which mine seem to just relish! :>
