*****Vintage canning jars****** Q&A Thread

I think I'm going to try a few of them soon as a test before things start coming in from the garden. I have found online where people are still using these with great success. And I am also using some of them for dry storage (coffee, rice, popcorn, etc...)

Cool, hope you have great success with them and don't forget to post a pick of them when they are full of veggies or dry goods.

I will do, I just subscribed to the canning thread here. I think this year is going to be primarily salsa, tomato sauce, and apple sauce, with a few jams and jellies.

Yes, this year we planted 5 different varieties of tomatoes, and 8 types of peppers (mix of sweet and hot), add to that the garlic we planted last fall, and it makes for some good salsa and sauce.

we're running a garage sale and selling those vintage jars for $5 or more ea... I would sell them to collectors and then go buy normal jars if I were you...

I would, but I am the third generation in the family to use them. to me that makes them worth more than what I could sell them for.
