Marshmallow is all feathers, when you give her a bath she gets SUPER small. The other Cochins are pretty small, some are chunkier than others. I want marshmallow for eggs though, she can't go broody.
I am about an hour south of Minneapolis
Maybe one of the others would be a good quail mommy then?

Oh okay, I don't know why I thought that!

Four eggs today. Spice was on them when I walked in the coop. She's been thinking about going broody lately, just wait another month or two spice, then maybe you can hatch quail.

Got two eggs today, plus one from sweetie.
I gave marshmallow and pebbles and Dot more cat food than usual, see if it helps

Raspberry is still broody

Spice is broody. Perfect for hatching button quail. She's a little soon though. And I wouldn't let her raise the quail because they would be tamer hand raised.

And Scarlett our Black australorp went broody today! I'm not sure if I should leave her broody though. She is my least favorite chicken cuz she's skittish and mom won't let me sell her cuz she lays big eggs. She could hatch the chicks instead of raspberry, they could raise them together... I don't know. What do you guys think?

So you want a hen to incubate then you will raise the quails yourself? I really don't know what to do, I've only hatched chicks with broodies a couple times.

I have an incubator but I'm afraid I'll mess up and then they won't hatch. A broody hatching will be easier cuz I won't have to monitor everything. A Broody raising the quail would be easier too but quail are so flighty it would be best if I hand raise them

Four eggs today. Scarlett was sitting on an egg on the bottom of the coop, her egg was in the nesting box. Spice is still broody. Scarlett is walking around making broody clucks
