Virginia

We're planning on coming to Fredricksburg TSC swap and bringing the following: Pair of Buff Orpington ducks 1 year old hen is laying, Possibly a blue indian runner drake, a trio of RARE true rumpless araucanas(blue wheaten) i year old, hens are laying, hatching eggs, assorted juvi chicks some purebred some mixed, and maybe more if their is interest in any of the birds listed above......We are NPIP and AI clean.........

I don't know if its an issue with photobucket or BYC. The photo works on other sites. . just not this one. What am I doing wrong? I am using the image codes provided by photobucket.
if they're saved locally on your machine, just upload them. so much easier than using photobucket. byc doesn't use image tags anymore.

Hi all! I'm new to BYC, and new to Virginia... well, I haven't even moved yet. In June we'll be moving from MD to NW Virginia - Frederick County, outside of Winchester.

There are so many posts on this thread, and I can't read through them all! Can someone tell me if there is anyone else in my area?

Thanks!! So excited to be here!

welcome to byc and va!

i can't say for sure who's in your area, i'm in the roanoke area about 3 hours (maybe a bit more) south of winchester.

i CAN say, if you want to attend a simply AMAZING swap, our next 'Gilmanor' swap will be september 21st, in Glen Allen (just outside richmond). I will be there for sure, as I know a bunch of other people on this thread will be. it's a very long day for me and my 'copilot' Bulldogma, but definately worth the 3 hour +/- drive.

if you have poultry now, what have you got? i'm a great enabler for putting people together for the breeds they want/need, or don't need for that matter. LOL

i have bantam cochins, Dorkings (silver grey and red), lf and bantam blue laced red wyandottes and swedish flower *chickens* - i refuse to call a rooster a hen, even if it's part of his name. LOL the swedes call them Blommehons, which translates for flower hens.

Welcome to BYC!

If you are going to be in Winchester area, I am about an hour away in the Lovettsville, VA area. There will also be a swap in Sharpsburg, MD on June 8th.

i'm curious about the basque and legbars... are they blue egg layers too? pm me if you want. i've heard people talking but haven't looked into them much. i'm mostly interested in my 'unique' ee/blue egg layers, something to work into my 'weeble' line. LOL

What exactly is a swap? I don't have any poultry yet. I've been dreaming and planning, but I don't even know what kind of chickens I want at this point. :)

June 8th is the day after we close on our house! I'll talk to hubby though, and maybe we can just come and see what it's all about.

Thanks!
