If anyone near Charlottesville/Madison/Greene/Harrisonburg is looking for Sizzles, I have 7 chicks from my project I need to find homes for. I'll be happy to give them to a fellow BYC member. I'll be moving in the near future, so I need to reduce my flock :/

^ Here's an older pullet I'm hanging onto, to give you an idea of what they'll look like. The chicks are about 4 weeks old and have been brooded by one of my Silkie hens. All of them are dark blue/black and all of them are frizzled :)

just a reminder Gilmanor is less than 2 weeks away... you might take them there. I know a bunch of us will be there too...

Without getting to personal, what part of Northern Va??? Here in Loudoun County there is the Bluemont Country Store , who offten has all kids of chickens and pulletts and in Steven City (south of Whinchester) there is Dollen Quarter Horse Farm who has awesome Blue Lace Red Wynedottes. My advice is if you want to go local sometimes you have to go with what's avaiable.

Anyone in Loudoun County or Clarke County know of any Vets who will see chickens? Our favorite Vet out here in Western Loudoun has moved to Pen State and we have no one who will see chickens...I don't need one right now, but I'm worried about the time when I do need one.

I live near Lovettsville in Loudoun County. I have yet to have a need for a vet for chickens so I cannot comment on that. With respect to chickens in Loudoun County, there are a few of us who are into chickens and setting up breeding programs. There has been little of which I am aware in bringing Loudoun County chicken folks together. There is an active 4-H program and the county fair. But these focus on the kids and provide no support for adults.

I may contact the county extension agent for more information. Certainly, I am not aware too many other folks and their chickens in Loudoun County.

Hello! I'm new to the site and live in Millboro, near Lexington. I'm looking for a male pekin duck. I rescued a female who's very lonely. Unfortunately I didn't get to rescue her in time to save her mate :(
