At what time does gilmanor start?
i'm thinking we got there about 730 this last time and they were already filling up. got there about 8 the time before and almost didn't get a spot. planning for 7 this time hopefully. LOL

if you're not selling I think it starts around 8 ish.

Yep. I am going to try to get there by 7am. That means loading birds up by 500am in the dark. And I don't even get home from work until midnight.

What are peoples thoughts about raising baby chicks outside this time of year? Some of the nights lately are dipping down into the 40's, even with a heat lamp, and a back-up just in case heat lamp would it be getting too cold on a few day old baby chicks? Would it be a better idea to put them in an inside brooder until they got a week or two, or a few weeks old? I decided to make the plunge and place an order into McMurrays for 15 rainbow layers and was debating whether to put them outside or inside when they get here.

My outside box is (I added a wooden cover with cut out holes for a heat lamps).
 
Chicks won't do well (die) if they get chilled. You can temper them down about 5°F per week, starting from 95°. Play those numbers against what temps the chicks could possibly be exposed to.

It's definitely trickier raising in the fall.
