That's wonderful! Gosh, you'll find tons of info on here about coops, predator proofing your coop. and lots of info on the different breeds of chickens, with pictures of course. There is steep learning curve with raising chickens, but this site will really help with "flattening the curve". I can't believe I said thatThank you for the warm welcomeNo flock just yet, hoping to have some babies in the next month or so, my husband and I have been tossing the idea around for a while now and have finally decided we are gonna go for it but I want to get the coop up and learn as much as I can before bringing them home. I will def. be sharing pics though as soon as we get them. I am super excited about starting this new adventure.
We got lots of rain, but no storms. However, today is super windy. Been getting a lot of really windy days lately. So far still have electricity and no large downed trees. Glad you are doing wellWowie, another night of some serious storms. Everyone ok this morning?
Lots of flooding here but otherwise A-Ok.

We're not new to raising chickens, we did however take a break for a couple of years, but missed all the wonderful benefits of having them. We mainly have them for the fresh eggs, and also to teach our son a good work ethic and how to take care of things. We recently picked up 6 Black Australorps and one Lavender Orpington. We're just glad to have some chickens againWelcome, welcome, welcome! So glad to meet you. There is a wealth of information on this site and some truly wonderful, knowledgeable people here. Hope you stick around and get to know us. Are you new to raising chickens? Already have a flock? Fill us in on where you are in the wonderful, sometimes wacky world of backyard chicken raising. We love getting to know newbies
