in general talking about towns that are spelled one way but pronounced something else. like Whiffle (Wytheville)

Hmm… I've only lived in Botetourt since August and I still have quite a few hints of my Wisconsin accent… I wonder if people look at me funny when I pronounce it "Bot-teht-tot? When I first moved down here about 10 years ago I got a lot of "where you from?" and "You're a long way from home, aren't ya?"
