Wow, those guys are gorgeous.

Your neighbors must be like mine. They secretly suck. Lol. You have a great mix. To each is it's own though. One of my neighbors has all white Cornish. The other has RIR and red stars. I love looking at my flock. In March I will have 20 breeds on my farm. Chick season is almost here! Nothing too fancy. Just nice birds.

Neighbors? LOL
What if they are reading backyardchickens.com and recognize your pics or something?
Maybe they have a good sense of humor and you were only joking. LoL
Some of my neighbors have chickens, they got them from me. I am sure many read backyardchickens.com and never make a comment on line. In fact I am certain.
My brother reads backyardchickens.com however he never goes online and makes comments. He reads forums on mixing feed etc.
Now I can tell you I have lived in neighborhoods that were beautiful homes, great location, and some of the people live miserable lives. One woman would go for walks morning and night taking notes and pics of things and then check to see if they had a permit for this or that, that they changed the color of the shutters slightly when they repainted. They planted a shrub without a permit. A tree died and they replaced it with a different type of tree. Oh, I could go on but you get the point. The fact is though, there was a fine from day of infraction to day of correction and fine must be paid gor each day and if not the HOA bill was turned over for collection. It must be paid or a lein would be slapped against the owner. Hoa's were recognized and upheld. An HOA is the lowest form of government. I would never live in another HOA. But it looks that is the wave of the future.
That is why we live out in farmland country. If We want pets or farm animals we will
Have them. I dont want to be told I can not have a cross in my yard. If I want to fly a flag I can. If I want to post a political election poster I will. It is my property. If my hubby wants to work on the tractor in the front yard he can. Now dont get me wrong, I dont want to live next door to a chop shop, a zoo, or a factory. So yes zoning is good.
I wonder what neighbors think when they see all my chickens? I am trying to let go of some. It os difficult to let go. I get attached to them easily. This time I will not be cliniging to any. I will be letting go as soon as hatched. Have a great day ladies. It looks like snow or rain.

I don't think they suck. Most of them actually seem pretty neat. It just gets kind of lonely when the only people you come in contact with are your spouse, parents, and doctors/nurses. The neighbors probably think we are hermits/weird/nuts! (Hint: we are).

Actually, I wonder if they DO read BYC.... Two of my neighbors actually stopped me and had extended conversations this evening. Of all days, I would have to be medicated, fresh from a quarterly blood-letting, and without a coat. But still, it was nice. I didn't have the heart to tell them I want to bring in goats though.... Oops!

I'd suggest joining the fb group. LOL they have the best personality, are very hardy, outgoing and super friendly. they are decent layers. I'd say maybe 10-20% have gone broody for me, maybe a bit higher for some others.

as for localities, that's best posted on fb or on the byc Swedish flower hen thread. I can only speak for myself and my 'sister flock'.

I know my neighbors aren't on BYC. And yours probably do not suck at all. You rock for having a good flock and a pretty one at that. My neighbors do not suck either, but they refuse to look at other breeds. Where I am there are a lot of people that are really stuck and have become complacent in their ways. You drive around my area and you see the same few breeds in peoples yards.

Maybe by them all being the same they don't get as attached to them... I have one of each breed I hVe except my two slw and a cuckoo maran roo and hen. And they all have names and I don't think I could ever eat them hahahha. Maybe they sell eggs and don't want the variety of colors us byc crave!!!!!

Quarterly Blood Letting, LOL, YOUR FUNNY!
We hardly ever see our neighbors. We see them working. I jokingly said to one lady if her guys have nothing to do some day,.... I thought smoke puffed from her ears & nose. I never got to finish it. She popped her top. I was being funny about nothing to do. We have soooo much to do. Hubby says, not enough hours in the day. We have shot through firewood at an alarming rate this year. We have been gone so much during daylight hours. The propane man delivered our propane and did not leave his/our ticket. Possibly these two dogs of ours and my hubby and son want more?

German Shepard mix with Chocolate Lab, and an oversized Border Collie from Texas raised for cattle ranching. Worse than the two dogs. My sister got up here and we were not home yet. I got a call from her, on cell phone breathless....saying, junkyard dog, junkyard dog. Worse than junkyard dog. Finally she calmed down enough to tell me Roosters were after her she fought them off with her claw cane and was hobbling/running and got up to the porch for the two big dogs to be clawing at the door and biting the door knobs, she could see them. She made her way back to her car by beating off 12 mad roosters and swore never to come back until they were all locked up! I said GOOD!

I apologise for the comment about the neighbours. I am sure that yours are wonderful people. It was more of a you rock comment. It is my lack of the proper english language at times. My neighbors are okay. It is upsetting that everyone around here decides to buy from the same places and all of the Places that sells chicks only carry 3-4 breeds. How boring. I got lucky and am very blessed that my family bred different birds. We have always had the "regulars", but every now and then it is nice to see something different. Even at the County fair there wasn't even a polish or silkie at the poultry show. Not saying that there must be, but they are common, and this shows how much we lacked in variety.
Also at the show, a lady was walking a red star on a leash. My youngest rush to ask to pet the leashed bird. The lady allowed him to. She had the nerve to tell me it was a designer breed of chicken. I wanted to die laughing. I told her that they were bred for egg production. And showed her a picture of a frizzled white laced red polish and a Silkiechin together. She told me that she could not believe that the birds existed and I must have been really good at photo shopping. I told her that they do not lay well and are raised locally. I even invited her to visit. She seemed offended by my trial to broaden her knowledge on " designer" breeds. I felt bad for offending her, but then realised it really wasn't my fault that she felt that way. Ignorance is bliss.
As for eggs and my neighbours. They do not sell them, and I have learned that they will let them rot before even sharing with anyone. There are a few really nice people with chickens around here. Just not my neighbours.

I apologise for the comment about the neighbours.

No need to apologize!! I was amused. My dry humor doesn't come through very well.

That sucks about the lady at the show and neighbors. Why not learn something or share? I gave an egg to one neighbor yesterday.

In all seriousness, one of the neighbors said he liked my birds...actually loves the roosters crowing. I think he's glad we're not hooligans or trying to citify the place. Despite having several acres, we have five neighbors, but luckily almost all of them grew up on farms or have chickens themselves! We will see what they think when the ducks and goats show up....

On another note, Did anyone else let their chickens out today? Mine flew out of the shed and went back inside after 5-10 minutes. Even the Marans and Ameraucanas, which seem to not mind cold or rain.
