Vitamin/Electrolyte for new chicks?

Instructions from Ideal state they need to be given on the third day ? is this necessary if they are doing ok ?

I'd say that if you have a vitamin/electrolyte mix, it wouldn't hurt to add a bit to their water. Their systems are still in transition from absorbing their yolk to taking in crumbles, so extra nutrition might be good right now... Just my guess.
