vocal chicken!

one of my chickens has been incredibly vocal as of late. she has just started laying a week or two ago but doesnt seem to be broody or anything.

is this normal? its just that my other chicken is not even half as noisy.

and if not what is it all about?

It's the egg song. Dont you just love it? I have two that sing to the high heavens just before they go in to make a nest and lay the darn egg. When there are three or more hens at one time about to lay, I call my girl friend up and let her listen to the racket. She has 8 baby chicks so I'm preparing her for what she can expect when the girls are revving up.
