volunteer potatoes

Too late- we had them for supper. Tasted great! They were a blue variety I tried last year. They actually got bigger this year on the volunteer plants

Funny, hello fellow Wisconsinite, I have all kinds of thing I forget or lose in my garden that show up next year, I actually consider garlic and dill as weeds because they are everywhere, I am always surprised by what can winter over, and what self seeds, I get volunteer tomatoes, petunias, marigolds, garlic, onions, that's just a few of what grows when you let thing go more natural, and I did have potatoes one year too, they sounded delicious.

The best potatoes I ever grew were the ones that I did not plant. They came up in the corn patch, and were huge. To this day, I always plant my potatoes with corn. IMO, they like each other!

I planted some blue taters years and years ago, I think they were the Irish Eyes?. Apparently I missed some, cause those things sent plants up for like 5 years!

I'm prohibited from gardening this year due to my health, but we have a thriving patch of cherry tomatoes, squash and pumpkins where our hogs were last year

All volunteer from what we fed the piggies.

We'd set some pumpkins on a cement slab in front of the garage last fall and they just set there and rotted. Amazingly enough, after it rained this year we have pumpkin plants growing in front of the garage!
