My 2yo EE has been vomiting liquids, just a bit, then she and the others clean up. She does this sometimes when she is bent over scratching and pecking. Then she gulps and clacks her beak. I don’t think there’s anything visibly wrong, and she doesn’t do it all the time. Any ideas what could be going on?

Just to be sure that she doesn't having any crop issues going on - check her crop first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink - it should be empty/flat. If it's not, let us know what it feels like.

Her crop is completely empty this morning. She did clack her beak as I was palpating, but I would guess that’s typical if someone was poking and prodding a sensitive area

It shouldn't be painful or uncomfortable to check the crop - it's really not a sensitive area unless there's a problem.

Hopefully she just drank too much water at once, but I would still monitor the crop off and on, worth taking a look inside the beak for lesions and canker as well.

This hen is still vomiting every now and again, but otherwise normal. No crop issues, lays eggs and eats and free ranges with the flock. Now my daughter tells me one of the younger hens (6 months) is also vomiting. What could be going on?

Various times, not when she is being handled (she is more of a hands-off kind of bird, despite our efforts) but mostly when she leans down. I've seen her standing on a kennel, bend over to eat treats and lose some fluids, or standing on the ramp to the coop and fluids come out. Almost like she's just got water in her crop just sitting there. I don't think she was just drinking immediately before that... but they always have access to water. They drink from nipples and water bottles (like hamster bottles) not open water

I don't know then, she may just be filling up on a lot of water and the way she's leaning over it's coming back out. If her crop is completely emptying overnight and you don't see any indications of mucous or canker inside the beaks, then I would just monitor it.
