Hi there,
I have a hen with an unusual issue. As of yesterday morning, she has been on the lethargic end. When she leans her head too far forward, some liquid flows out of her beak. She jerks back up to swallow it, but this impedes with her eating. This doesn't always happen--she's been on/off yesterday and today. We force-fed her mash and water yesterday and she apparently kept it down, but her general interest in food has decreased. Her crop was less full than the other hens' today. (She can't have crop impaction, BTW, 'cause her crop is soft.)
Any ideas on what this is or how to treat it?
Thanks,
Lauren
