Started with 6 chicks 3 years ago....fell in love with them, then added a few more . all are pets, one talks & answers to her name....now have a coop with lights, nests, water trough, timers for on/off lights & heater to come on if below 38 degrees! Still learning, lost one hen with prolapsed vent, another from some evil wild animal! Now have chicken vomiting black watery yuk , a pretty shy Wyndot named Margie. Have cked for solutions but still need help.....Am a Newbie to this site!

I'm certainly no expert but I like to guess for the heck of it and it helps your post show up more so you can get proper help. Perhaps sour crop, you can usually get an idea by opening the beak and taking a whiff, should be an offensive odor. That's what I've heard and picked up at least, these guys should know though @casportpony @Wickedchicken6 @XanderWiFi

My sympathies for your hen, poor thing

Hello Julia! Welcome to BYC!! It's so nice to have you join us. welcome.gif
I'm sorry it is under such circumstances.:hugs

I admit that I haven't had experience with this type of situation. You will get more appropriate responses for your specific situation from those with experience if you post a thread under the emergency/disease/injury/cures section of the forum. The link to bring you there is below.

Best of luck! I'll watch for you over there as well.
