Vote for me to help me get my chickens please?

Congratulations on the baby's I am glad you got them:love:love

Thank you so much, I'm really happy I did too. I can't imagine still waiting another 6 months for them I was dying a slow death of anticipation lol Hope you and yours are all doing well.
I will keep letting everyone know too how it's going with the grant! I find out December 1st. They said the numbers are confidential till then. I'm ordering some of the materials for their pen already, and have found a pro carpenter willing to help me with building it at my home in exchange for a good supper :)

There are dozens of brands out there this is just the first that popped up. With regard to feed, its really complicated. If you'll PM me with an email address I'll send you some reading material.

Trying unsuccesfully to figure out how to send a pm here..

update lol ok so I am so head over heals in love with these chicks and they are so in love with me lol I knew I would like them but I had no idea they would act like children.. They do not want me to put them down. They want to follow me around everywhere, they cry when I put them down for me to pick them back up, and hop when I come in for me to pick them up they all want me to pick them up first lol
And I have become like an overprotective mother hen every bird squock I hear outside I go Running to check on them lol and I'm learning their language already! Like you learn what baby cries mean. I love this, but I have had FOUR heart attacks for NO REASON already though. The first time was because of the one with the eye infection, I thought it was some disease and it was probably just a scratch or dust..the second time was when I saw bloody threads in their poop!! But then I read that is totally normal..The third time they all started itching at once and I thought either they were allergic to the new dried plants I used for their bedding or it had mites on it and the mites were going to kill them overnight lol but they were fine they were just having their first real grooming session.. and the 4th time I nearly died was when I had given them a bit of pealed chopped grape, and then later I saw what I thought was blood on their mirror and little bamboo beddy cloth thing..and I checked each one over so carefully even under their wings and the base of each and every feather and stared at them for 3 hours to see if one was pooping blood and Then I realized it was just red juice from a tiny bit of grape skin I missed hahaha I've had them for a week and they are 3 times bigger than they were, so adorable, and I've had to upsize their box 4 times already because omgosh the easter egger is a good flyer and tries to follow me out of the room by jumping out of the box! awww.. I wish she could..one day soon but world still too big right now!! Hope you are all having a nice day and had a happy Halloween :) Please do wish me continued luck here! They are all getting along so well like best buds..So far so good! Thanks everyone in this group for all your help with them!! :) <3

They grow so fast, oh and forgot to tell you they can fly at two weeks. My first batch of babies, went out to the garage one morning and they were all out of the brooder, exploring the garage. Took me an hour to get them back in. Now my brooder has a cover.

Congrats on the new chicks.
I have not read back and caught up yet...looks like you need to get them into a coop already...box is looking quite small.
Keep an eye out for real bloody poop aka Coccidiosis.

I finally did just yesterday put a screen over it lol thanks :p I didn't really want to because they can't see up/out as well now, they're so penned in looking now I'm afraid they'll get claustrophobic or something lol but they don't seem to be minding it :p The silkies are not a problem at least but the other three can get pretty high if they exert themselves! You know I still can't believe they jump up on sticks and sleep on sticks and not in a little nest box..

Yes, they're going into a refridgerator box today and I'm going to put up low roosts in it for them finally..I don't plan to put them outside for a month..And yes I am! I am terrified of that! And respiratory infections I'm watching their air quality so closely.. Their starter feed I bought is medicated against it, was the only kind they had and I'm kind of glad because I'm scared they could have it from the other chicks they were in with.. but I would like to start making my own feed when that runs out if no sign of it, none so far at all thank goodness ..
