people who choose to be vegetarian/vegan are within their rights, and I don't try to convince them to be meat eaters. On the same note, I don't think it's fair to convince meat eaters to be vegetarian/vegan. I am a meat eater, and I believe that meat animals should be treated fairly. I also believe that there is medical evidence both for and against eating or not eating meat. One way or another it boils down to a person's individual convictions and dietary choices. This bill very well could cause ordinary people who choose to eat meat unable to afford animal products, which is not fair. If this bill forces the agenda of animal rights groups rather than educating people truthfully and allowing them to make their own decision then I would vote against it.
My chickens have about 2.5-4 sq feet per bird inside their coop, and 6-10 inside their run. They are happy and have enough room. They go outside, scratch, dust bathe, etc. They are happy and well cared for. This is not too much to ask. As long as the commercial birds have a decent amount of room inside a cage and/or a decent sized run I would call that even.
