Waaaa! My house is flooding!!!

I totally understand! I kept telling my DH that there was an odd smell in the bathroom and I dont mean the normal odd smell

. Started cleaning the bathroom floor under the tub (we have an old claw footed tub) and realized the pipe from the drain had been slowly leaking for a loooong time

so I started tearing away the linoleum floor (which was ugly any way, I've wanted to replace it but just didnt have the funds) and there was black mold under the flooring and into the subfloor. Yuck what a mess! The only good thing that has come of it is that we found the original tongue and groove flooring is actually pretty nice and can be refinished with a little work! So hopefully something good will come out of your leak...like maybe an extra clean floor?! Just trying to find a silver lining!

Wow, bad luck. Wait, it IS Friday the 13th! Hope it gets better for you. Nothing like dealing with heavy wet towels and comforters....

no luck in finding the hose....erg....men...it's men...it's always the men...ha ha....dh doesn't put the hose back with the machine? so it gets lost in the utter chaos in the garage...and old man plumber forgets essential key part of the job...putting it ALL back!!!

and where are they now? dh is back on base in VA and old plumber man? who knows.

soooo....i'm spinning and drying now.

still got wet.

and now my children who have been attracted to the disaster have slipped and fallen....and had several change of clothes right now...and we all have wet cold feet.

why can't everyone just park their rears on the couch and stay put?

can i have a nap now?

i didn't think so.

oh sigh....

ha ha...you are RIGHT! It IS friday the 13th!

I felt like Charlie Brown making those exclamations!

funny you should mention silver lining....I have noticed over the last couple of months that there are these little black ants in that area. I have put bait traps down yet they still persist. I find them by the garbage can...or any other place my 3 year old has spilled some juice or dropped a grape... I saw some washed out from the wall...that'll teach 'em!

me,

can't seem to spell today.

I dealt with this about a month ago... for some reason the washer just decided to overflow... ALL over rugs, laundry bag full of clothes, etc. I was out of the house and walked back in to a lake!!

NO FUN! Good luck cleaning it all up!

Just think your washroom is squeaky clean now, whether you want it or not! And your kids (YOU KNOW THIS) had a ball slipping and sliding in the mess. I bet they saw it and was having fun before you saw it.

The key in all of this is to LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH your fool head off. Crying does no good. Find the humor in it. and when you find that hose wrap it around the plumbers neck! LOL (just kidding) I would almost be game to call the plumber again and ask him if he would be so kind to come clean up the mess he left because he did not put the HOSE ON!!!!

Laughter is the best medicine, find the humor (after you rant and rave that is, that is always allowed

I would not bother drying towels that I'm using to sop up that mucky mess. Just use them and put them back int he washer in the spin cycle, then use them again, and so on and so on till the mess is sopped up. After that you will need to wash them to really clean the floor, but again no reason for them to be dry. Save your time, money and dryer the effort!

That way your basically using the washer to vacuum up the floor, with the towels as the hose that you can't find for the wet vac.

AND I SO HEAR YOU ABOUT MEN! My hubby never puts anything back where it belongs. EVER I spend hours a day looking for stuff, and it's no help if he is home because he just says he can't remember where it is, and will not help in looking.

NOOOOW you tell me!!

ha ha...I have only been doing the spin cycle to drain the towels but yaeh...I put them in the dryer after that.

It's nearing the end now.

I'm washing one of the comforters, I'll do the other comfortor after the clothes.

I had a pile of clothes on the floor in the laundry room, waiting thier turn so they are sopped...so they are next...then the last comforter...then I'll be able to wipe up the floor that's under the clothes and comforter...then the last bit of towels...and almost call it a day...or I guess it will be night soon.

me,
g

oh and fudgie...the kids WERE having fun until they fell on the hard floor...it's slab under there and they were running and chasing each other and slipped.

that ensued in screams and cries and wails....

Never a dull moment.
