Wacko Geko Quilt Block Swap-SIGN-UP CLOSED

So, we are just doing the geckos on the blocks and not the sashing? That seems easy enough. I'll consider.

Also, since the blocks are going to be divided up amongst the participants, can they all be the same print, or just a couple of prints?

Applique isn't that hard and the geko's will be easy after the feathers we just finished. Come on gals. If an old lady like me (71) can do it you youngsters can..............

No Sashing or anything like that. All of that is the option of the person who receives their blocks from all of us. Yes you can use all the same color or different colors whatever way you want to do it.

When I get the blocks from everybody, I take the return envelopes and spread them out on my dining room table. I then grab the stack of blocks and walk around the table laying one block at a time on top of everybody's envelope until everybody has 12 blocks from a mix of other participants.

Some folks will put one of those mailing stickers with your name on it on the block as some folks like to know who made which block and keep a book of each swap they have been involved in.

The big thing to remember is we are making out blocks 12 1/2 X 12 1/2 instead of what is listed on the pattern as the size of the block. This makes it easier for folks who are new to sewing and quilting to complete their quilts without too much math figuring sashing, borders and such. For me, the less complicated the better!!

Some of us just completed an offlist project with Cancer Ribbons and feathers from that same site. That one was MUCH harder than this. All those danged feathers!! But then again, we had 1 person who has never done applique and another who made her first blocks without me sitting beside her doing the blocks.

Come play! We always have such fun with these swaps!!

Not sure since I'm not sitting at the computer but maybe you need to install an updated version of acrobat reader. Check your version and then look on their website for what they currently offer as a free download version. Another thought would be is your antivirus software getting in the way? Turn it off and then try again. As always, have you made sure your upto date on Windows updates if your not on a mac? These are just some suggestions for those having any problems viewing.

Wow, I completed one

I will play w/ it until the sign up deadline and see if I get any better, but I don't think my current skill level is acceptable. I have puckers and frayed edges, and uneven stitches around the tight corners.
