From one of the US Marans Club's historic records. Wade Jeane was not the only importation said to have been from eggs purchased at a farmer's market.
I just read it and passed on, there being noting of interest in for me.

I never bookmarked it, I think maybe it was by Catherine Anderson of one of the possibly now defunct US Marans groups or from the US Marans line history.
That is why I originally said
"Why don't you just ask the people involved?
Much better than the gossip & innuendo you might get on a forum."
