I have 6 bantam cochin eggs and 6 polish eggs in my incubator in lockdown right now. So far two have pipped. Everything is fine...the pipped ones are actually early....but the waiting is killing me! I have to stop myself from checking on them all the time, and I just want them to come out of those eggs! Do you find it difficult to wait for the little guys to hatch?

Oh, I was aweful--a woman obsessed from about day 19-23! The anticipation is something, huh? I have eggs under a broody and they have yet to hatch.
Best of luck to you!

I am going on lock down tonight. It is time to sit on your hands for the next 3-5 days

good luck to everybody.

I'm pretty good at sitting on my hands and leaving the incubator shut, but I can't stop myself from looking in at them through the window ALL the time! Good luck to the rest of you with eggs as well!

3 solid days of peeking into those little clear plastic windows...shining the flashlight in there when you get up to pee every night and checking the thermometer and hygrometer with each visit. Yea, time slows to a crawl and each new pip brings more frequent peeks. Good luck!

mine are due friday.. have three out already and a bunch that are pipped..
first one has a really bad case or wry neck (genetic from my understanding).. its so bad that the back of the chick's head is touching it's back... already had it out and gave it a few drops of poly vi sol and removed the shells
so the wait for the next egg to hatch from that seller took a bit of nail chewing.. but the second one came along and is fine.. so is the third chick which is from another seller .. have another that is well on it's way to being zipped.. so should have at least one more new baby come morning.. if not more
just keeping my fingers crossed that i dont have any more wry neck babies...

i've been hatching chicks for years.. and this was my very first wry neck chick.. needless to say I am a little more anxious about this hatch than any i have had before since finding out they may have a few issues

I am horrible when I have babies hatching. I have actually slept on the kitchen floor next to my incubator so I could be right there

and darn near everything else when they pip. I manage to stay out but never manage to stay away. My kids and husband leave me alone when I have chicks pipping. LOL this is why I only do it a few times in the spring and summer. The rest of the year my incubator is put far away from temptation to use it. The darn babies never seem to come out soon enough. My husband tells me "like a watched pot, a watched egg never hatches (fast enough).
