Grit, my cousin has the poly cystic Kidney disease and having a good support system is worth a million bucks. Make sure your Nephrologist is up front, your pcp works together as members of a team. You have the right to know your results ASAP, and if you find that you are not happy with the way someone treats you, please please take my advice and fire that team.
This is a critical time in your life, not to scare you, but with her past doctor and Nephrologist, she was never told she was in renal failure. She finally changed doctors and is so wishing she had done this years ago.
She is in renal failure, but remember its not a death sentence anymore. I went through the dialysis and transplant appts with her and its scarey, but since she has been going through the dialysis, she feels the best she has in years.
I also have friends that have actually had kidney cancer and that can be won. Get to a top doctor, travel if you must, but these battles can be won and NEVER FORGET IT. NEVER NEVER FORGET IT.
I know you do not know me, do not mean to scare you or sound like I am trivializing your journey, but please if you need to talk or know more about my cousin or the friend that won cancer, please let me know. There is always hope and God does give miricles out. I know that through my loved ones journeys! God bless you and you are in my prayers also. ~ Kellie
ps- sit with a happy hen, that will always make the days a bit brighter.
