Waiting on my 1st HATCH in 7,6,5....!!

7 days to go! We got our first 2 day old, sexed chicks this July. Petunia (Barred Rock) and Betty (Blue Splash Silkie) both started to crow, so we began getting fertile eggs in December! The chicken addiction has firmly set in and I am at its mercy. I asked for a Brinsea Mini Advanced incubator for my birthday so I could start hatching our fertile eggs before we say adieu to both of our roosters. I have three eggs remaining in the bator (don't ask) of the 7 I set on January 22nd. The three left are Easter Eggers and I am SO excited to see whether Betty's swimmers made it to the end of the race (as we sent him to live in New Hampshire on a nice family farm that breeds silkies).

I'm starting to get really excited about the impending hatch!!! Stay tuned for details and photos!

Pipping!!! We have 2 of 3 pipping as of 8am this morning!!!

It's day 20 though... I think. Went into the 'bator at 3:30pm EST on 1/22/10. Coming out soon!


And here comes "Soupy" (that's what happens when you give a 4 year old naming duty while you're eating soup!) My FIRST HATCH EVER!!
