Walk-in coop from Coops for Dummies

Looks like I will get to build a coop for my mother in law.
She wants a walk-in coop and plans to have 8-10 Hens. (before chicken math)
Currently we are thinking about the coop in the Dummies book.
Just wondering if anyone has comments or tweaks for this coop?
I know that she does want me to build a porch onto the front.
Also, she lives in the rainy area around Portland Oregon.
