Ice hears the sound of rocks tumbling from the top of the cliff, and dust and rocks roll down into the canyon.

(She was my parakeet! We where going to see her in the summer...)

(we live on 92 acres and have heaps of animals! i've watched more die than i can count. watched my own riding pony get put down and buried. watched a goat kid born outside our window only to have a twisted jaw and die two days later! we've had two kittens killed by snake-bite. four dogs have died from old age and sicknesses we couldn't cure. Then there's the twenty-something rabbits and the 18 budgies! that is animal death!)

(and then there's the goat kids taken by hawks and foxes. the cows dying on the hillside, drowning in their own stomach acids (not pretty at all), the bones of the animals dead on our property, the bodies of pets buried near our roundyard...)
