Went to the cardiologist today. Asked him if it was okay to resume running. "Get a good pair of shoes and use common sense." was his reply. Will I, or won't I ? So far today I have walked 9,585 steps. I'll get in a couple more thousand after supper.

How do you walk so much? Do you just log that many steps walking around doing chores, or do you go on walks specifically? Also how do you track your steps? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious.

The only time I hold still is when I am in front of this computer. :p Mowing lawn and working around the yard provides many of my steps. I also train dogs for several hours daily. I am always in motion. I track steps with my phone which appears to be pretty accurate. (I have counted steps and then checked the phone.) Yesterday I only logged 10,396 steps - we went to a movie. If I am short on steps on a given day, I will specifically walk to up my step count. Last year I averaged 9,693 steps per day , and this year I resolved to increase that number. So far so good. I overdid a little bit on Tuesday, and right now my left Achilles is a bit sore. I generally walk in a pair of Asics running shoes. Need to buy a new pair, and ----------------? The Princess says "No running."
