I've done it before. I had a presentation a few years back in my Genetics class involving the genetics of slate turkeys. As a bonus, I got to bring in Jenny, my lovable slate hen. I used a large dog harness and had her wear it every day for around two months before the presentation. During the last month, I started using it to lead her around. She did quite well out around the coop. However, when I had to walk her through the halls, she became slightly stressed and didn't want to move. I ended up carrying her to my class. Once she got away from all the noise and movement, however, she did fine in the class.
