Wandering Jew (Tradescantia pallida) safety?

Hey everyone!

If anyone else has Wandering Jew, you know it spreads like wildfire. I had two pots of it by my shed, both overflowing, and one pot by my patio, also overflowing. Recently my chickens have decided that it would be a delicious snack. They have completely scalped both pots by the shed (like down to the dirt) and have eaten as much as possible through the patio fence. Will this harm them? I haven't seen any evidence of feeling ill, but I may have just missed something.

Non toxic to birds. But you might want to add some greens to your chickens diet. A head of cabbage is a good treat, it pretty cheap, and will keep them entertained for hours.

Thank you! They free range all day and get greens. They're very curious about my garden!

This is Tradescantia pallida, not the true Wandering Jew (T. flumenensis and T. zebrina.) It did say they were closely related, but I'm not sure. Time to ask the Gardening section!
