What I mean is this.
I'm not talking about putting up a sign in the feed store saying "meat ducks for sale" or doing the same on Craigslist.
What I'm talking about, is getting some into a restaurant or two.
I can't go up the local restaurant and say hey wanna buy 50 white muscovies. They'll tell me to get lost and find some one to slaughter them and pick em and dress em, etc.
So, if one wants to get meat birds out--to a restaurant or whatever, and not just to local people who will slaughter them themselves for their family--how does one start?
I don't believe there are many if any meat processing places in MA.
And I can't call Frank Perdue and say, "hey I got these birds........"
Any of you good folks do this. I AM NOT TALKING BIG INDUSTRY HERE EITHER.
If the monastery could generate a bit of income from, say, a hundred or so per year, that might be kinda nice...........
Thoughts?
thank you
