Want to have a perfect fried egg???

My BIL calls this an egg in a frame. We call it Toad in the hole. I have also heard it called egg in the basket. I put a slice of cheese on mine after I flip it. Then place the cut out piece on the top.

the "cut out" toast is used for dip eggs

We call it "egg in the hole". We lightly toast the bread in the toaster first, then cut the hole with a shot glass. Place in the pan with a little butter/margarine and crack the egg in the hole. Works well with a banty egg!

I have always called them "bird in a nest" and I LOVE them. I take it one step further:

After I do a cut out in the slice of bread, I butter both sides of the bread. I then add it to the fry pan and crack and egg into the whole.

My reason for doing this is;
1) it helps keep the bread from sticking
2) I love the taste of butter with my "toast" and egg ^-^ hehe

Lol I learned about this "recipe" from the movie "V for vendetta"...sad I know...
