I very much dislike "creative" spellings of common names.

It is like picking a fight or creating a difficulty where there is no need. So, the baby is Michelle? Pretty name, well known name. No problem. Why force the child & everyone who comes in contact with her into a big ol' discussion about the spelling "Meeshaell"? Is it "mee-shay-ell" or "meesh-a-eel"???? Silly. I don't get it.

In the 1980s, there was a lesbian folk singer named, Phranc. I think she was trying to make a point. I named a chicken after her. But I spell it "Frank."

My name is Kristen Miranda and I LOVE the name Miranda. We picked a different name for our daughter thinking we would name the next one Miranda Wynn, then I nearly died having Olivia and can't have anymore. So name her Miranda for me LOL!!!!
