want vs. need: how many chickens?

You came to the WRONG place to ask how many to get....

I have 12 = 8 standards and 4 bantams.

We're a family of 4 and have WAY too many eggs, I have 5 dozen in the kitchen right now and we had 6 in a salad for dinner

On the plus side I have a little cup in the kitchen with MONEY!!

from eggs my dh has taken to work - we get $2 a dozen....

Chickens are WAY less work than I thought they would be, they're so very easy compared to other pets.

We have a horse and a goat and two cats as well.... heck the 12 chickens are easier that the two cats!

What ever you decide - it will be fun fun fun!!!

(PS: I have 14 eggs in the incubator

Oh what the heck,

I can sell some laying hens in the Fall if I have too many. Yeeeah, that's what I'll tell my husband.
