Wanted Bobwhite Quail hatching eggs,

Looking for bobwhite hatching eggs I can pick up within about 100/125 miles of Nashville TN,,dont like mail shipping
lost over 250$ to a well known advertising seller last year ( jumbo brown quail egg seller, returned some of my money,
when I started investigating him on the state lv ) well known on ebay
I have a limited supply of Jumbo Brown quail eggs from time ta time just have to know in advance

Some states require a permit fir Bobwhite quail so they may be more difficult to find nearby.

I dont need a permit here in TN but I do need a business license to sell, I all ready have that

Have you checked Craigslist and facebook marketplace yet?

Hate to hear about your bad experience with the shipped eggs. Care to share who the seller was?

So far I've had very good luck with shipped eggs. Out of around 500 shipped eggs I've averaged a 77% hatch rate on total eggs set. These eggs came from Myshire Farm, Orchard Hill Poultry, and James Marie Farms. As much as I like Robbie I don't recommend ordering from JMF. It took forever to get the eggs, part of the order got screwed up, and the overall experience was just sub-par... great guy though.

I'm considering ordering some bobwhite eggs pretty soon.

Now tat you asked and stated your trouble with James Marie Farms,, 20 and 23 % hatch rate both times I got Quail eggs from him. Shipping dates were over a month late,,Was lied to about when they were shipped . He was a good seller one time ,but now he has the name a total screw up, the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. I have been building incubators for over 15 years, bought chicks, chicken eggs, and Jumbo Brown Quail hatching eggs from 4 other sellers in the past 4 or 5 years and can get 70 to 90% hatch every time,, but not his. Just want a few 100 Bob White hatching eggs for raise and release around here Thank You for your reply

Yeah I called him up one day and he talked to me for like 45 minutes helping me get a little breeding program setup, wish i would have recorded or wrote down everything he said. He was going through some health issues at the time too. Very nice guy and answered every question I had.

But as far as doing business with them, zero communication about the orders, they don't respond to emails, shipped weeks after the day they said it would ship, etc. I did have good hatch rates though..... 74% on all eggs set, 90% on viable at lockdown on first batch and 74% total 95% viable at lockdown on the second....

Don't let that experience ruin buying shipped eggs though. Myshire Farm is a very good outfit to order from. They ship when they say they're going to and I've had excellent hatch rates with them. That said they are way behind right now from everyone buying due to the Kung Flu...

I would like around 50 or 100 bobs myself to do the same. Are you going to keep them on wire or on the ground? Use a fly pen?
