off topic to the post but Good luck on your certification! and no ,you don't have to go to school to be a vet tech/assistant. It depends on the office you apply at. The vet I work at doesn't have anyone working for them that is certified and we have about 8 techs on staff, 4 receptionists, 6 vets. Our vets prefer training us how they want us and do not like having to retrain people coming out of programs, so it really is preference. I think if you are certified you might get paid more off the bat, but not positive on that one
