Wanted cheap used but working incubator

Wow, too much to respond too.

Brahma, I am no expert. I looked at the Brower and if I was to buy
a new bator for under $200 the Brower would be it. The only thing I
don't like is it uses a light bulb as the heat source. Admittedly I'm
not too sure if this is a bad thing.

Sherri,

From the reviews from owners here of the new Hovabators it seems
they keep the temp best out of all the styrofoam bators.

Anyone know if a Little Giant turner and fan will fit a Hova???

My Ideal Setup:
RCom 20 - Main bator for small/specialized hatches
Brinsea Octagon 40 - Main bator for larger hatches
Hovabator w/air & turner - Good backup bator, hatcher, and loaner (spread the disease)

What I Have:
Octagon 40 (On way)
3 Little Giants with fan kits & turners

BrahmaMama, I found this post regarding a Brower Tophatch incubator Ksacres had for sale on here where she explained some of the things she did and didn't like about her Brower Tophatch and why she was selling it,...

Thought it might help.

I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold (I grew up in the Mojave Desert!) so our house is usually around 73-74...so that shouldn't be a problem. I could probably keep it in my closet-so no drafts there...though I have to check for an outlet, I don't think there is one now that I'm talking about it, lol!

The autoturner not working would be my concern though. I did have a friend offer hers to borrow-but I'm not sure what kind it is. Either way, that would probably be a good way to go, to start. I haven't talked to her in awhile...was just going to go ahead and buy one, since I will need one eventually. Maybe I should just make a phone call

If you can borrow one then do it. You will learn what you like and don't like.
You'll also learn how much you acually like hatching and can decide how much
you really wanna invest in a new one.

That would be the smart thing to do, wouldn't it PurpleChicken

Love the name, by the way-my favorite color; well, that and red together

you can use little giant turner in a hova but u might have to adjust the coil. when i put mine(hova turner) in my little giant bator i had to shorted the legs for it to fit. don't know about the fans we used fans from computers to make our own we are testing them now. i have 2 hovas and 2 little giant still airs.

PC is right!

as i write this i have two bators going . . .
an r-com 20 pro and a
little giant 9200

the r-com has only fluctuated by about half a degree in either direction.
the little giant has gone all over the place. in fact, i probably cooked the eggs the first night because the temp dropped and, like an idiot, i turned the heat up.

even after the first day there has been plenty of fluctuations with the lg.

you do, indeed, get what you pay for. especially when you are an idiot like me!

I hope my Octagon 40 turns out to be ok but I still want an Rcom.
Can you fit a water weasle in it or does it not matter?
